Milwaukee, WI
Songwriting Workshop with Tret Fure
Hosted by Lesbian Alliance
Workshop will be held at 1110 N Market St #2, Milwaukee, WI 53202
The Marriage of Music and Lyric: Songwriting Building Blocks
We will explore ways of finding your song by drawing from the right side of the brain. We will approach lyrical creativity through a series of writing exercises that are fun, inventive and spirited. These exercises are intended to expand your expressive palette by showing you how song lyrics work emotionally, visually and expressively. We will also concentrate on basic composition development through the use of “families of chords” to help you to find the perfect chords for your words and melody. Bring a writing journal, a rhyming dictionary (if you have one) and your instrument, even if it is only your voice. You don't need to be a musician to take this class. I will help you find the music to your words. Songwriting is a “learnable” skill. My goal is to help you reach deeply into your own creativity. We will conclude with a song circle.
For more information on the workshop, or to pay by check, call or email Amanda at (414) 779-9089 or amanda.suckow@gmail.com
